Matches

Family Favorite! What is a Match?

What is a Match? It is a hamburger and onion patty fried in home made dough, it is delicious and craveable!  These have been made in my family since around 1966, when my father and uncle were working for Replacement Windows in Berkeley, CA.  One of the salesmen invited the entire company over to his house for a dinner party, where his wife was making everyone a Turkish dish she called Paramatches, or a Pair of Matches, or Parimatches? (or something like that) We just call them Matches.  Needless to say they were a HUGE hit! So my Mom and Aunt June who are both amazing cooks, had an impromptu cooking lesson from the gracious hostess, and our family gained a much loved recipe! I am not sure of the correct name of these incredibly delicious meat pies, but they have been a family favorite for more than 55 years! I am sure if you make them, your family will have a new favorite too!
