The weeks leading up to the celebration of the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ is full of decorating, cooking, shopping, planning and fond memories. What is one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, always rings true when you find a beautiful piece of furniture that is about to be discarded to the dumps, and you can bring it back to a beautiful and functional heirloom. I love antiques, but let’s face it, not every piece of antique furniture is easily transformed. Not the case with this little kidney bean shaped desk that was cosmetically in pretty rough shape. A few times per year I like to change up the mantel, and the easiest way to do this is during the holidays.
